About Me
Mister G. Custom Auto/ Motorcycle Artwork and Merchandise
Hello my name is John "Mister G." Gonzalez, Teacher and Artist, and lets talk about me for a while! I started drawing when I was a baby and sculpting marble at age two. When I was three I began a ... blah blah blah who cares! I've always liked to doodle and draw things ever since I can remember. After High School I ended up in the family construction business for several years. As I worked my ass off, I would attend Art classes at night and weekends. I started studying classical animation and design at The Art institute of California and I eventually ended up at UCLA where I received my degree in Art.

I grew up in Venice California. It was a wild and crazy place to be! Surfing, skateboarding and raising hell! There was also a cool and eccentric Art scene there . I was influenced by the local artists. Fine Art, Muralism, Sculpture, Tattoo and Graffiti Art was everywhere! Underground Comix were a big influence as well. Artists such as Robert Williams, Rick Griffin, Ed Crumb and many more helped shape my direction in Art. I also love the Kustom Kulture car scene! Ed "Big Daddy" Roth, George Barris, Von Dutch and others, are very influential in my Art.

I started cartooning early on. Waves, guitars, robots, anything I thought was cool! As I matured ( I’ve never really matured! ) I began drawing portraits in pencil and ink and moved on to painting, both oil and acrylic.

Now my focus is on Classic Cars and Motorcycles from the 70s down
( cuz they are the coolest! ). Muscle Cars, Hot Rods, Low Riders and Bombs, Rat Rods, Panheads, Knuckleheads, Shovelheads, Indian Motorcycles whatever, as long as it is cool and old! I’ve also paired the drawings with retro places from my youth that I thought were cool and funky. Old diners and restaurants, bars, auto shops, drive-ins and more!
But enough about me... look around the site! Look over the past, and the recent work. The merchandise, the prints or whatever! Also, if you are interested in a drawing (a great gift idea!) send me a message, I'll get back to you right away. And go to the "Kustom Work" page and follow the instructions...they're easy! Have a great day!
